Chemical Engineering professor Dr. Andre Adebayo is ecstatic that his newest paper on modified surfactant interactions is being wildly misconstrued on social media as a potential cure for depression, as well as a way to genetically modify diamonds.
“It’s an honor to have so many people read about my research, and make wildly incorrect conclusions about any real-world applications,” said Dr. Adebayo, who is just happy to get some recognition after 35 years in academia.
The attention came after a unpaid newspaper intern skimmed the 20-page document and cobbled a headline from the keywords and his phone’s predictive text software.
